October 1941
--------------------------------------------------------------------
ON THE Eighteenth of October we celebrate the 102nd Anniversary of our Beloved Shepherd. Koreshans have reason to rejoice concerning the future outlook of our great movement, for CYRUS, the Shepherd and Stone of Israel is the only hope of the world. Let us make no mistake about it, for KORESH says:
"To deny his name as the one chosen, applied, and prophetically declared, is to reject the Lord himself; for this is the name and only name given in heaven whereby men in this age can be saved. . . . 'That saith of Cyrus, He is my Shepherd and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shall be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid (Isa. 44:28.)
" Thus, saith the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him. ... I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron.' This CYRUS is none other than the one prophetically declared. . . . There will arise false christs, specially definite counterfeits, and those counterfeits will be hard to detect; so difficult, that if it were possible, the very elect would be deceived. There are some credentials that no one but the true Messiah can carry, and it is fortunate that these credentials are specifically defined in Holy Writ."
Estero residents were shocked on Wednesday evening, September 3, to learn of the sudden death of Miss Bertha M. Boomer, who was run down by a truck at Fort Myers Beach. Miss Boomer, who had been in swimming with a party of friends, left the water to get her bathing cap which she had forgotten. A glaring sun was low in the horizon and it is supposed that she failed: to see the approaching truck which was driven by Mr. H. C. Case of Fort Myers.
Miss. Boomer was for many years a, member of the Unity in Estero. She was, an accomplished artist, being a graduate of Chicago Art Institute, and had a wide circle of friends. She is survived by her brother, Mr. L. M. Boomer, President of the WaldorfAstoria Hotel Company of New York, and a married sister, Mrs. Walter Thomas, living in a suburb of Philadelphia.
