Harry Manley, a member of the Koreshan Unity was born Harry William Mahneke. He changed his name to Manley in 1920. His mother, father and sister also changed their name and lived with Harry Manley in Estero and Fort Myers.
This collection consists of a large number of personal typewritten pages, including translations of letters etc. Bender writes to Manley who was, at least in part, instrumental in bringing Hedwig Michel to the United States. Some of the letters deal with Manley and Hedwig's translation of Bender's plays and how those plays were apparently being played out in real life.
There are also some bound copies of a play written in German and three separate copies of a play, entitled; "The Double Marriage of the Duke".
