FOLKS WE KNEW WHILE IN THE K.U. by Marie McCready: Oliver Ruth; "Oliver was a physician. They came from Muscatine, Iowa, and brought their horse Nellie. In Washington Heights he had charge of the farm, so Lovelle and I planted and picked garden vegetables under his teasing instructions. Blanche was our schoolteacher in Chicago and part of the time in Estero; returned to Muscatine and Blanche died. Some time later Oliver married Nina's mother, Alice Burrows, and their son Dean lives in Washington state."
