My Darling Emma — Letter to Emma Norton — From Sandy Creek

Teed to his sister. He speaks of the trouble in getting this letter out due a blockage on the railroad. He goes into a discourse on God and keeping the faith. Teed says; "It is my purpose to gather the few, now being moved upon by the Spirit of the Most High, when they may be separated from the world, thay they may husband the potential element of life for immortality. The influencees of Satan would destory us. But our God is Mighty and he will soon impart his Omnipotence to his anointed." Teed continues with references to himself, saying; "...ye believers in God believe in him whom the Son had sent into the world, even Koresh (Cyrus) the Lord's anointed..." [spelling of 'Koresh' is Teed's] He tells Emma not to "... be troubled about A. or N.", and, "I am glad you are cut loose, absolutely from A. See to it that you remain so." He asks about "Mother" and asks Emma to come and stay with him, saying; "Tell Oliver for me that he need not bring Nettie." At the top of the letter is a paragraph written a week later, just before mailing, in which he mentions looking for a letter to arrive from Moravia. Teed also mentions in his P.S. "Give my love to Amelia and Charlie."
