Teed informs Albert and Emma, "I have hired a house to day which is all ready to move into so soon as you come. Father and mother have gone. Mother is now with Charles in Unadilla. Nettie will keep the house here, Oliver had hired to Wm. Walker and wants to board with me, but I shall board him in this house — father's — for the present. Nellie is very sick, but I hope now on the fain. She sleeps but little eats but little, and her bowels and stomach very sensitive. Her bowels move every two or three hours she vomits more often than that." Teed also says; "I know we can make things move if we pull together and I know we shall do that." Teed closes by cautioning; "Do not think of going to Melora's or any other place."
