Notes by Evelyn Horn: Alfred Christensen Born in Copenhagen, Denmark. Alfred came to the Koreshan Unity at Estero in the early twenties. (According to the 1910 U.S. Federal Census, Alfred was living in Estero, Florida in the K. U. in 1910--Joyce Ratliff) Became naturalized in Tampa, Florida. His life-long work at the Unity was Machinist, Mechanic--clock maker. He was a well-learned student of Koreshanity, lectured in the Art Hall to tourists visiting Estero. He studied Universology. He was with the trail-blazers in 1923-1928. Alfred was the engineer in hooking up the Power Plant for electric in June 1925, a Fairbanks Morse engine, and keeping it running until August 29, 1946 when Florida Power and Light Company brought electric power to Estero. Alfred had one niece, Mrs. A. J. Knuckey of St. Petersburg, who often visited him with her family. Alfred died at Lee Memorial Hospital and was entered in the Koreshan Unity Cemetery. Death January 9, 1963. Alfred was a quiet person, well loved by all. He was of medium build, weighed about 150 pounds, strong in character, ruddy complexion, brown eyes, sandy hair. Very neat in his person. Always wore tan shirt and pants. Played the violin beautifully. Death--85 years.

Brother Alfred visited his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Einar Christensen, who were here for a short time a few years ago."

A party from the Unity composed of Sisters Adah Price, Florence Graham and Barbara Ehrisman, and Brother Jesse Putnam and WILMOT CLEAVES motored to the island to pay them a visit recently."
