THE FLAMING SWORD; Community Current Events by L. W. Bubbett; January 1935: "On the twenty-sixth Mrs. Lovelle Ahrano and her three sons, Jean, Fritz and Mark, and Miss Elizabeth Cermak of Tampa visited us for the day. As a material token of good will, Mrs. Ahrano left three fine hams, for which we are greatly appreciative. We have "ambitious" expectations that the culinary department will maintain its high standard in preparing them for table. Thank you, Mrs. Ahrano; we're sorry, though, you couldn't make your visit much longer."

Mr. Walter Rahn is connected with the Chicago office of the Commercial Credit Company of Baltimore. This year he took his vacation in Florida, and while motoring from Miami to St. Petersburg he stopped at Estero to visit his brother at the Unity. Brother Claude laments the fact that after extolling for years the beauties of the Koreshan Unity grounds, which the colorful crotons, artistic bamboo clumps, and other attractive plant life, his folks would come right after the disastrous freeze of last month had almost entirely wiped out the work and growth of some seventeen years--since the last devastating freeze However, the visitors were well entertained, and they seemed to greatly enjoy their visit. They continued their journey north on the eighteenth."

Individual Note:
FLAMING SWORD - Community Current Events by D. J. Richards, December 1936: "On Saturday morning, October 31, the Unity received a telegram from Mr. Leroy H. Bubbett, our representative in Winnetka Ill., to the effect that he would arrive in Fort Myers that morning and for someone to meet him. We did, but it was most evident that Leroy was not long for this world, for he arrived completely exhausted and a very sick man indeed. The end came the following Tuesday, November 3, at 3:30 p.m. Brother Roy, as he was familiarly known to
us, was one of the early pioneers of the Koreshan movement in Chicago, coming into the home when a lad with his parents, Brother James and Sister Evelyn Bubbett. He performed much valuable service in those early days and since, and was ready at all times to champion the Cause of Koreshanity. He is survived by his wife and daughter, who reside at Winnetka; a son at Birmingham, Alabama, and his brother, Laurence Bubbett, of Estero. His son, VICTOR BUBBETT, arrived in Estero Thursday morning following his father's demise, and left the next day for Winnetka."
